Heidi feels right at home here in her mountain home with her grandpapa and the goat shepherd Peter, with one of his goats.  The solid wood case is designed in a swiss chalet style with a handcrafted shingled roof. The case is stained in walnut, with natural-colored roof trimming, balcony trimming, and a natural-colored clock face.  Miniature lattice windows with shutters and flower boxes, as well as a depicted white stone wall and a handcarved and handpainted pine tree adorn the housefront. The whole mountain family are enjoying their comfortable family life with their faithful St. Bernhard dog. A special feature is the beautifully crafted wooden pendulum with Edelweiss Flowers. The cuckoo opens the door at the full hour, "tweets", and calls with Echo, telling the number of the hour. After the cuckoo call, one of the 12 alternating melodies plays. The clock has a manual night switch off, and also a light sensor to automatically turn off the cuckoo  and music sound when it is dark. The Quartz battery clockwork is run by three 1,5V Size C batteries that are delivered with the clock. The clock comes in an original box with instructions. This clock model is produced by the Trenkle company in Simonswald, a family business that has been around for the last 50 years, and prides itself in combining the traditional handcrafting with new technical developments.
