"Back to Nature" is the motto of this Black Forest Cuckoo Clock with shingled Chalet roof. All around the house, there are porch-styled roofs that provide protection for forest animals and house pets, and also allow the firewood to dry. This wood case is left in its natural wood color, and is decorated with small picture windows with curtains, shutters and flowerboxes. The cuckoo opens the door at the hour, and tweets and calls out the number of the hour with an echo. Afterwards one of the 12 alternating melodies are played.   The woodchopper chops the firewood to the music and the children figurines dance on the balcony. The Waterwheel is also moving to the music. On the side you will find a switch to turn off the music separately, or both the cuckoo and the music. Through a light sensor the clock is automatically quiet after dark, although the clock keeps running. This clock is run by a quartz battery clockwork that runs on three 1,5V batteries - Size C (delivered with clock). This clock model is produced by the Black Forest company Engstler, a family-run business that has been well-known for generations both for its tradition and technical excellence.
