This bird carving in light limewood with burnt edges is a classic among the original Black Forest Cuckoo Clocks. The wood casing is left in its natural light-wood color, and is especially attractive through the burnt edges. The clockface is framed with carved maple leaves. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour.   The clockface, numbers and clockhands are all made of wood. This clock has a manual night switch off. The mechanical clockwork runs for 24 hours. This classicly carved clock is crafted by the Hönes company in Titisee, a family business deeply rooted in the century-old tradition of the clockmaking industry, and is well known for its high-quality Black Forest craftmanship.
