This original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock is a classically and excellently dfeep-carved three bird design. Oak leaves frame the lightly walnut-stained solid wood case. Left and right, two forest birds are perched, keeping watch over their young in the nest below. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. After the cuckoo call on the hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays, and the folklore dancers turn to the music on the balcony. This clock has a manual night switch off. Clockface, numbers and hands are all made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a week. The clock comes in an original box with complete instructions, as well as a VdS certificate. This classic model is crafted by the Gerhard Schwer company in Schonach, a family business that has been around since 1900.
