The natural front of the house stands out nicely from the decorative latticework under the traditional hipped roof. The cuckoo opens the door on the hour, chirps, and calls out the number of hours with an echo. Then one of 12 different melodies sounds. The water wheel turns, the woodcutter chops wood, and children dance on the balcony. There is a switch on the side to turn the cuckoo off manually. A light sensor automatically turns off the sound when it gets dark, but the clock continues to run. This clock is powered by a quartz movement that requires three 1.5V size C batteries (included).
