Heidi with her Grandpa and the goat shepherd boy, Peter, are the theme of this Black Forest Cuckoo Clock with shingled chalet roof and red gable. This clock can be used as a wall clock or a table clock. The wood case is stained in walnut. The housefront is decorated with miniature windows with little red shutters and lacey curtains. A St. Bernhard guards the house. The cuckoo opens the door at the full hour, "tweets", and calls with Echo, telling the number of the hour. After the cuckoo call, one of the 12 alternating melodies plays.  The clock has a manual night switch off, and also a light sensor to automatically turn off the cuckoo  and music sound when it is dark. The Quartz battery clockwork is run by three 1,5V Size C batteries that are delivered with the clock. This clock model is produced by the Trenkle company in Simonswald, a family business that has been around for the last 50 years, and prides itself in combining the traditional handcrafting with new technical developments.
