An industrious woodchopper adorns this original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock in chalet design. With its shingled hip roof and miniature lattice windows with little heart shutters, a typical Black Forest scene is depicted. A grindstone sits in the background to sharpen the ax whenever needed. The water wheel on the housefront turns everytime the music plays. The Edelweiss flowers under the roof add a special charm to the housefront with a simply designed balcony and a half-timbered wall pattern on the housefront. The cuckoo opens the door at the full hour, "tweets", and calls with Echo, telling the number of the hour. After the cuckoo call, one of the 12 alternating melodies plays, while the water wheel turns, and the woodchopper chops his wood. The clock has a manual night switch off, and also a light sensor to automatically turn off the cuckoo  and music sound when it is dark. The Quartz battery clockwork is run by three 1,5V Size C batteries that are delivered with the clock. The cuckoo clock comes in an original box with complete instructions.

This clock model is produced by the Trenkle company in Simonswald, a family business that has been around for the last 50 years, and prides itself in combining the traditional handcrafting with new technical developments.
