The little girl Emma is on her rocking horse, and calling out to her dog, Benno on this Black Forest Cuckoo Clock.  The wood case is stained in walnut and crowned with a shingled hip roof that is crowned with a dormer window and chimney. A light-colored stone wall and small balconies decorate the front of the house. Two shy fawns peek out from among the pine trees. The cuckoo opens the door at the hour, and tweets and calls out the number of the hour with an echo. Afterwards one of the 12 alternating melodies are played.   Children figurines dance on the balcony to the music. The water wheel also moves to the music, while the little girl rocks back and forth on her rocking horse. On the side you will find a switch to turn off the music separately, or both the cuckoo and the music. Through a light sensor the clock is automatically quiet after dark, although the clock keeps running. This clock is run by a quartz battery clockwork that runs on three 1,5V batteries - Size C (delivered with clock). This clock is produced by the Black Forest company Engstler, a family-run business that has been well-known for generations both for its tradition and technical excellence.
