A loving owl couple is guarding their bird family on this original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock. The Bird couple takes care of their young in the nest, while the owl parents watch over the babies. The walnut-stained, wood case is completely framed with deeply carved maple leaves. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. After the cuckoo call on the hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays, and the folklore dancers turn to the music on the balcony. This clock has a manualnight switch off. Clockface, numbers and hands are all made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a week. This classic model is crafted by the Gerhard Schwer company in Schonach, a family business that has been around since 1900.
