"Our friend, the farm dog" is depicted on this original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock with carved Chalet roof. The farm dog is guarding the farmyard watchfully, with the water well next to him. The wood casing is stained in walnut, and the the housefront is decorated with miniature windows with shutters and flower boxes. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour.  The clockface, numbers and clockhands are all made of wood. This clock has a manual night switch off. The mechanical clockwork runs for 24 hours. This little piece of the Black Forest is crafted by the Hekas company in Schonach, a family business that was founded in 1938 by Helmut Kammerer, and in the 3rd generation still stands for its original motto:  "Tradition with perfection".
