Product info

This original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock house with carved hip roof depicts two woodsmen sawing wood. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. As the cuckoo calls, a bell in the tower on the roof rings and the two men saw a wood log.  After the cuckoo call on the full hour, one of the two alternating melodies plays, and the water wheel turns, and folklore dance figurines turn to the music on the balcony. The wood casing is stained in walnut and decorated with miniature windows with little red shutters and flower boxes, as well as little balconies. The front of the house is decorated with pine trees and a St. Bernhard dog.  This clock has a manual night switch off.  The clockface, numbers and clockhands are all made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a whole week. This classicly carved clock is crafted by the Hekas company in Schonach, a family business that was founded in 1938 by Helmut Kammerer, and in the 3rd generation still stands for its original motto:  "Tradition with perfection".
