This handcarved original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock depicts two squirrels in the pine forest. The wood case is stained in walnut and has a carved hip roof.  The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. This clock has a manual night switch off. The light-colored clockface, with darkly-stained numbers and hands all made of wood, make for a rich contrast. The mechanical clockwork runs for 24 hour. This classic model is crafted by the Gerhard Schwer company in Schonach, a family business that has been around since 1900.
