A merry woodchopper is shown at work on this original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock in light wood color. The wood case is kept in its natural light wood color, and the shingles on the hip roof are burnt at the edges. The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. The natural color of the clock dial with its brown clock hands and roman numerals builds a pleasant contrast to the rest of the clock.  This model has a manual night-switch off. Clockface, numbers and clock hands are made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs 24 hours.  This cuckoo clock model is crafted by the Anton Schneider company in Schonach, a family business that started on a farm in 1848 and has developed into one of the largest cuckoo clock producers in the Black Forest.
