This original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock depicts two friends having their morning drink in the middle of the pine garden. The wood case is stained in walnut and has a carved hip roof.  The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. With every cuckoo call, the men, who are sitting on wooden logs, lift their beer steins to drink. This clock has a manual night switch off. The light-colored clockface, with darkly-stained numbers and hands all made of wood, make for a rich contrast. The mechanical clockwork runs for a week. This classic model is crafted by the Gerhard Schwer company in Schonach, a family business that has been around since 1900.
