This traditionally designed Railroad House Black Forest Cuckoo Clock looks just like the original model designed by Friedrich Eisenlohr around the year 1850. The wood case is stained in cherry-mahagony antique wax and decorated with deep carvings in the shape of wine leaves and vines.  The solid-wood cuckoo calls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. The cuckoo flaps his wings as he calls. This clock has a manual night switch off.  The weights are also encased with beautifully lathed wooden casings. Clockface, numbers and hands are all made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a week. This unique model, with signature from the clockmaker, is crafted by the Robert Herr company in Schonach, a traditional family business that has been around over 100 years.
