A touch of gothic elegance can be seen on this original Black Forest Cuckoo Clock. The wood case with black antique wax stain has deep, elegant carvings in elegant gothic form. The solid-wood cuckoo ls the number of the hour on every full hour (e.g. 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m. 3 times) and once on the half-hour. The cuckoo flaps his wings as he calls. This clock has a manual night switch off.  The weights are also encased with beautifully lathed wooden casings. Clockface, numbers and hands are all made of wood. The mechanical clockwork runs for a week. This unique model, with signature from the clockmaker, is crafted by the Robert Herr company in Schonach, a traditional family business that goes back more than 100 years.
